Upgrading Metrolina Greenhouses to an exacqVision Security Solution

Metrolina Greenhouses, located in North Carolina, is one of the most automated greenhouses in the United States, with 160 acres of greenhouses augmented by 30 acres of outdoor growing space. It employs 625 people plus an additional 200 seasonal employees. Since Metrolina ships goods to a number of retail outlets and other greenhouses, they wanted an upgraded surveillance system that would assure smooth operations and transportation to and from the greenhouse.

This case study examines how an exacqVision solution provided Metrolina with the security they needed. A 32-channel exacqVision hybrid server with six terabytes of storage was installed to manage 32 analog cameras, 10 IP cameras, six megapixel cameras, and three PTZ cameras. The staff uses exacqVision video management system software to manage surveillance and easily search recorded video. In addition to safeguarding against theft or vandalism, the system allows Metrolina to monitor their operations, ensuring a smooth production process.
