Problem

The new Possilpark Health and Care Centre in Glasgow offers a broad range of different services under one roof including GP services, physiotherapy, podiatry, community dental surgeries, and district nursing. To protect the new facility, Johnson Controls’ MZX addressable fire alarm offered the best value solution, providing fast and advanced technology critical for a health and care environment.

Solution

Johnson Controls MZX fire alarm control panels are part of the latest digital-based MZX Technology family that offers greater functionality and advanced capacity in the number of field devices available. The fire alarm system provides triple technology detectors (each device can detect smoke, heat, and carbon monoxide gas) for quicker and more effective detection of a fire, and reduces the risk of false alarms. To speed up the installation of the detectors, Johnson Controls’ patented ceiling tile adapters were used. CCTV static cameras were also installed at key strategic points throughout the building’s interior, and a number of column-mounted pan, tilt, and zoom cameras were located in the health center’s car park to help keep staff and patients safe.
