WE ARE COMMITTED TO TRANSPARENCY

Through our Global Sustainability Council, we engage leaders across the enterprise to drive sustainability performance for our operations, our supply chain and our customers. Environmental improvements in our operations this year included a 2 percent reduction in energy intensity, achieved by identifying three times more energy savings projects than in fiscal 2015.

Sustainability metrics include data from business operations that were at least 51 percent under Johnson Controls operating control and financially consolidated during fiscal 2016. These include Automotive Seating (now Adient), Building Efficiency, Power Solutions, and the Johnson Controls Hitachi joint venture. Waste figures include all of these components except the Johnson Controls Hitachi joint venture.

Tyco had committed to reducing its environmental footprint 25 percent from 2012 to 2017 (as noted in the fiscal 2015 Tyco Progress Report), addressing greenhouse gases, water and waste. In the year ahead, we will harmonize sustainability data and goals across the new enterprise.
