It aimed to be the first university in its state to reach “net zero electric” efficiency, using solar power as the main generating source for the academic campus.
Johnson Controls installed a 23-acre solar farm with battery storage that supplies 12M kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity.
With this microgrid solution, CSU-Pueblo has locked in its electricity costs for the next 25 years.
