Johnson Controls recognizes that when employees volunteer in the community, everyone wins. Last year, employees volunteered more than 40,000 hours in their communities, globally. Volunteering allows the employee to gain valuable perspective and experience, and the communities where Johnson Controls has a presence are made stronger with our employee service. We encourage all employees to find a cause they are passionate about and volunteer regularly.
Johnson Controls believes our employee globally are the experts in understanding the needs of the communities where they live and work. From Argentina to Vietnam, through our global Blue Sky Involve program, employees volunteer individually or in teams with a local nonprofit organization whose mission involves building a safe, smart or sustainable community. Johnson Controls funds these projects according to how many employees volunteer and how many hours they give to the project.

We encourage our leaders to engage fully in their communities through nonprofit board service. With many worthy organizations looking for the support of Johnson Controls, employees who serve on boards or who volunteer with nonprofits often give guidance and direction to Johnson Controls’ philanthropic decision-makers. These employees provide the Johnson Controls Foundation staff with valuable insight into the operations and programs of our nonprofit partners. If a nonprofit organizations is interested in learning of Johnson Controls encourages nonprofit staff and board members may have with local Johnson Controls employees for board service or another volunteer role.
